Winemaking

The flagship cuvée of the Berne estate has its origins in a well-informed blend of grape varieties, with Grenache noir maintaining its dominance. The iconic limestone Provence, terroir impacts the wine greratly. MDCV's expertise on this cuvée spans from the choice of plots and the decision of night harvest dates, to the blending of grape varieties and the secure packaging under a defensive atmosphere. The preservation of the sweet fruity aromas and colour is made possible by the use of natural gases, such as nitrogen, the containment of musts and wines at low and controlled temperatures, and above all, the regular stirring of wines on fine lees. This develops the flavour on the palate.

Mr. Chapoutier

It all started in 1808 with the creation of Maison Calvet et Compagnie, located rue de l'Hermitage in Tain. In 1897, Marius Chapoutier joined forces with Rodolphe Delépine to found the Delépine et Chapoutier company. The wines are exported to Holland, Switzerland and Germany. Then in 1929, at the foot of the Hermitage hill, Marius created the new M. CHAPOUTIER winery. In 1937, Marius' son Marc took over the business. Today, with Mathilde and Maxime, a new generation joins Corinne and Michel Chapoutier to perpetuate the tradition of a family House.
